"Holly writes truthful and sincere. I know her
writing comes from her heart and her experiences, just from knowing her.
She is a very sincere person and writes her articles that way. She was the first one to write
up an article about me and my hometown. Very excellent writer. Emm Hmmm." -Duck Dynasty's Mountain Man
"I cherish the fun times/laughs I have with my friend/publicist Holly, who is always so "Jolley." Just being in her presence makes me feel comfortable and at home - like I've known her a million years. I know her readers are going to feel the same. The way she words and writes things is in such a smart, but understanding way, no matter the age or the maturity level - it always leaves you wanting more." -Paul Jolley (American Idol Season 12 Top 9 Finalist - on Holly's upcoming book)
Holly had always enjoyed all facets of writing, but never did she seriously consider pursuing any areas other than songwriting until she had been living in Nashville for several years. She admitted early on that she was much more of a lyricist than a singer, and definitely a "words girl." Subsequently, she started writing as the "Nashville Local Music Examiner" for fun. http://www.examiner.com/local-music-in-nashville/holly-tong She began by doing a few interviews with local singer/songwriters who she thought deserved the promotion that she now had access to. It wasn't long before she had gained a large following of readers and was getting requests left and right to cover special events and to conduct top notch interviews.
Word spread fast and before she knew it, she had accepted the title as the Associate Editor of a new publication in town which covered a broad spectrum of the entertainment world. She wrote monthly for the magazine before taking a new direction. Currently, she has a thriving Pop Culture column on the Examiner (and is ranked #1 in Nashville), and within the Top 20 for Arts & Entertainment in the country. To check out her latest articles and/or to subscribe to her column, click here: http://www.examiner.com/pop-culture-in-nashville/holly-tong She will keep you up to date on the latest celeb news all the way from Nashville to Hollywood.
She is also a contributing writer for The Portland Leader covering local news. She often writes special feature stories by conducting interviews with residents. She received a 4th place Tennessee Press Award in 2013 for her article on the historic "Temple Theater." In 2015, she received a 1st place Tennessee Press Award for Local Feature Writing and a 5th place for Business Coverage. In addition to her usual coverage, Holly is now writing a weekly "Single Life" column for the leader. To check out the newspaper website, click here: http://www.portlandleader.net/ She previously wrote for the White House Tribune as well.
Her articles can also be found on numerous websites, and are featured and linked all over the web. Excitedly, she has interviewed some of the top hit songwriters, country music singers, television stars, actors, actresses, and some of the most intriguing people in the entertainment industry.
To date, Holly has written around 1,000 articles. She also is often hired for press releases, artist bios, and general consulting/publicist related work. From managing social media accounts to scoring interviews for her clients, Holly does it all. She charges competitive rates, and promises to use her deepest insight to best meet your needs.
